Michael has a strong record of fighting for Colorado’s public lands, and will continue to fight for the CORE Act if re-elected.

DENVER — Today is National Public Lands Day and Michael Bennet and his campaign are energized to celebrate. Colorado is home to more than 8 million acres of public lands, which are an important part of our economy. That’s why Michael has been fighting to protect our public lands and outdoor economy since his first day in the Senate.

“Our public lands are the soul of the state and the economic engine of small towns across my district. Colorado is lucky to have Michael who has shown up time and time again for rural Colorado by supporting our public lands” says Colorado State Senate President Pro Tempore Kerry Donovan. “From securing funding to protect public access to the Colorado River in Eagle County, to his fight to protect the Thompson Divide, there is no doubt Michael fights for us.”

Michael has a long history of working to protect Colorado’s public lands – he championed efforts to protect special places like Chimney Rock, Browns Canyon, and Amache, has worked to improve forest and watershed health and boost Colorado’s outdoor recreation industry.

Michael is running for reelection this year so he can continue working to pass legislation to protect public lands, like the CORE Act, which would protect 400,000 acres of public lands and make Camp Hale the first National Historic Landscape, and working with western senators like Mitt Romney to preserve the Colorado River Basin.

Coloradans recognize Michael’s commitment to protecting our public lands and way of life re-elect Michael Bennet.
