Keeping Families Afloat Endorses Michael for His Continued Push to Expand the Child Tax Credit and Help Families Grappling with Rising Costs

This recognition touts Michael’s action in Congress to lift children out of poverty and support hard-working families who are struggling to make ends meet.

Keeping Families Afloat, an initiative focused on supporting the expanded monthly Child Tax Credit (CTC) and calling for its increased visibility among policymakers, candidates, and voters during this year’s midterm elections, has endorsed Michael Bennet’s 2022 US Senate campaign.

“We believe that the expanded Child Tax Credit is the most direct and effective way to help families offset rising costs — and we recognized that you share our mission to make the expanded CTC permanent,” Keeping Families Afloat wrote when announcing its endorsement of Michael’s campaign.

90% of the kids in Colorado and across the country reaped the benefits of the CTC—on average, families received nearly $450 a month—which helped cut child poverty by 30% and reduced hunger by nearly a quarter. The recognition from Keeping Families Afloat praises Michael for pushing impactful anti-poverty policies that support working families and for his continued effort to expand the CTC program after Congress allowed it to expire earlier this year.
